New iPad 4 / iPad 3 is blessed with the stunning Retina display that secures 264 ppi pixel density, which is the source not only for sharp and crispy shots and movies taken with its build-in cameras but also annoying hanging of those apps involved into shooting . Even native Camera app may hang during exposure. In rare cases this is hardware issue but more often than not it is caused by drained RAM on iPad mini / iPad 4 / iPad 3 (its predecessor that is iPad 2 may suffer also from this).

To avoid problem with camera hung on your iconic tablet follow the simple sequence before launching any app that involves its build-in cameras:

  1. Use four-fingers gesture(or double press Home button / double tap virtual Home button) to reveal multitasking bar.
  2. Tap and hold for a while any icon on multitasking bar until all icons on it start jiggling.
  3. Tap one by one minus signs on all wiggling icons.
  4. After all jiggling icons will disappear from multitasking bar tap empty space outside.
  5. Restart your iPad by turning it OFF then (in 30 seconds) ON.

This sequence will maximize the free memory on Apple tablet and cleans up the junks left in resident memory from poorly written apps.

If your camera on iPad hangs:

  1. Follow above sequence.
  2. If that doesn’t help do a hard reset.
  3. If no progress apply for replacement.
